PAYOFFS – PAYOFFS – PAYOFFS

From The National Race Masters Editors
Wednesday, September 5

Here we go again. Beginning this Friday, September 7, the Belmont Fall Championship Meet for 2018 gets underway with a 3 day weekend.

If history tells us one thing it tells us that this is not only opening weekend but a weekend that “Value Opportunity Horse Players” do not want to miss.

The reason is simple. With barns returning from the Saratoga Meet entering horses on these three opening weekend race cards there are a number of angles worth analyzing.

*Horses that woke up at the Spa after showing so-so form at Belmont previously. Are they horses for courses or have they improved?
*Horses that are in an opposite situation. They did well during May and June at Belmont but showed little up north. Do they rebound?
*How about turf sprinters who were relegated to 5 ½ furlongs, the only grass sprint distance they can run at Saratoga. How will they fare now that there are 6 and 7 furlong sprint options open to trainers?
*Are the juveniles who were ready to win early set to move into allowance and stakes racing, or did they just beat rivals who were being brought along slowly?
*Speaking of juveniles, do bettors know which trainers did indeed take their time with their debut and second races and have now raced their charges into shape at the right distance or on the right surface?
*What about the return to one turn mile, mile and a sixteenth and mile and an eight distances which were not available at Saratoga? Are you prepared to make the handicapping adjustments?
*How do you evaluate the shippers that ventured to Saratoga from Churchill, Gulfstream, PARX and Monmouth? Is it a good sign if their connections decide to keep them here instead of running back at their home base?
*What about the jockey colony. Perennial circuit leaders such as the Ortiz brothers, Velazquez and Castellano were really pushed hard at Saratoga by the likes of Manny Franco, Luis Saez, Joel Rosario, Ricardo Santana, Jr, and Junior Alvarado. What will be the impact of that depth?

These are just a few of the considerations that demand extraordinary scrutiny. A scrutiny that is crucial because of the absolute EARLY PAYOFF REWARDS that have been a traditional dynamic of his Race Meet.

(YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT OPENING WEEK IS A MUST PLAY)

With 5 Handicappers chomping at the bit for the Belmont fall Championship Meet to get started this Friday it doesn’t take a Mensa level I.Q. to figure out why.

The racing game is a constant search not just for the best horses in any given race but for the VALUE THAT MUST ATTEND THE PLAY. With that as the guideline the aforementioned historical tradition of payoffs during this upcoming weekend is the sought after reward personified.

Last year for instance there were 29 races opening Friday through Sunday. From those 29 races there were only 6 winning favorites. That is 20.7%...a full 15-17 percent below the national average at race tracks around the nation.

The average Win Payout was $12.95. The average Exacta Payout was $87.50 and the average Trifecta Payout was $627.70. These are the kind of returns Value Players Seek. The only question is, given all the angles (see above) that a horse player needs to navigate, how does one find the right horses?

Glad you asked because our NationalRaceMasters stable of Handicappers is ready to put it all together.
