RACE 1 - NYSB 1 1/8 Mile Second Level Allowance/Optional 40K Claimer - 3 YO-Up
It began right away and throughout the day on the main track the surface was somewhat cuppy and tiring. Winner CLIFTON PLEASURE got a great trip from the rail, was able to run measured fractions just off the pace and easily came off the rail heading into the far turn, remained close and pulled clear in the final strides. BATTLE OF EVERMORE got just the opposite a trip. He was strung out wide on the first turn, kept out throughout yet still continued on to finish second in a good effort. Third place finisher JET BLACK set the pace but didn't have enough and settled for third. It was another 6½ lengths back to the rest.

RACE 2 - NYSB 5 ½ F MSW - 2 YO Fillies
After scratches only 5 went and the lone filly with experience easily handled her 4 rivals as Monmouth shipper BLISS TO YOU ($19.60) rallied from dead last to win by a wide margin in slow time. Not much from the rest

RACE 3 - 25K NW3L 6 ½ Furlong Claiming Race - 3 YO-Up
Second choice ROLL TIDE ROLL got first jump from pressing second behind pace setter and once on lead held off late rush by favored CHIPIT who rallied from fourth. It was 8 ¾ lengths back to the show runner. Runner up was haltered by Gary Contessa and third place runner MATCH UP was grabbed by Danny Gargan.

RACE 4 - NW3X Allowance/Optional 80K Claimer Or NW4L - Or NW Since 10/15/15 - 1 1/16 Miles Turf - 3YO-Up F&M
In a race written for solid graded stakes turf filly and mares "prepping" for later in the meet the most accomplished of them all, SENTIERO ITALIA won easily at $2.70 and is back in full form off the layoff.

RACE 5 - 40K Mile Turf Claimer - 3YO-Up F&M
It was surprising to watch both Irad Ortiz on winner ANNIE ROCKS and John Velazquez on close up third place finisher and third favorite SENSE OF BEAUTY fall asleep as 50-1 shot first time turfer walked them through slow pace and almost pulled the upset. SENSE OF BEAUTY had to switch inside and should carry this level next time. Winner was claimed by Michael maker for Ken & Sarah Ramsey so stakes race could be soon.

RACE 6 - 5 ½ F MSW - 2YO Fillies
SPECIAL RISK duplicated late run in debut as he chased three to four wide from near the rear, came under urging three furlongs from home, angled four to five wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly for the place honors when he closed 5 lengths in final furlong to miss by half-length to debut starter BOWIE. First time starter TORRENT was off a bit slow and also showed good late kick.

RACE 7 - NW1X Allowance - 3YO-Up - 6 Furlongs
In what was the theme all day, front running longshot TRUE ROMANCE worked hard pressing the pace, took over and opened up 5 lengths in mid-stretch and was caught late by strong rally by TAKREES. It was 6 lengths back to third and favored APOLOGYNOTACCEPTED showed nothing.

RACE 8 - Grade III Schuylerville Stakes - 2YO Fillies - 6 Furlongs
Speed a victim theme continued as first and second favorites MADE ME SHIVER and OLIVE BRANCH joined longshot INSPIRED FLIGHT in suicidal duel through half mile in :44 3/5. Monmouth shipper SWEET LORETTA (although in Pletcher barn) rallied from sixth and was joined by longshot FUN from seventh and HARLAN'S THUNDER from fifth for a $226.00 Exacta and $1,366.00 Trifecta. The winner cleared off by 4 lengths and will go longer...another Pletcher star.

RACE 9 - Grade II Lake George Stakes - 1 1/16 Miles Turf - 3YO F&M
Original field of 12 reduced to 8 by late scratches and it was oddly run early as usual pace-setter SKY MY SKY went out early but was joined by dead closer GONE AWAY from her outside post. Those two set solid pace numbers from the backstretch into the far turn but the two Chad Brown r8unners, as expected came out of the pack to separate from the rest as ANCIENT SECRET got first run and held off ELYSEA'S WORLD. The latter was held up a bit down the backstretch and waited a bit in the lane so her best is still to come.

RACE 10 - 40K Maiden Claimer - 1 1/6 Mile Turf - 3YO-Up
Full field but not many good ones. The Chad Brown favorite MARKET WATCH won in hand and second place runner COME AROUND held lead all the way around until the winner wanted it...and COME AROUND held second in his first race since December of 2014. Enough said.

"Graveyard of Favorites" for losers..."Longshot Heaven" for winners
